Action Research Power Point

Action research is a systematic inquiry conducted by teachers and other education stakeholders to gather information about how their schools operate, how they teach, and how well students learn. There are two main theories of action research: critical action research, which aims to liberate through knowledge and challenges assumptions; and practical action research, which emphasizes the process and gives teachers decision-making authority to improve practice through reflection. While differing in philosophy, both forms of action research create opportunities to improve student outcomes and teacher learning. Action research is distinct from other reforms because it makes teachers part of the solution by integrating research findings into their own practice.

them to randomly assign students in their class to
control and experimental groups.
