1. An oscillatory systems is known to have a transfer function of following form :

Assume that a record of a damped oscillation is available as shown in figure below.
Determine the damping ratio and n of the system from the graph and find if the
system stable or not using Routh Herwithz Methods.
Design the PID controller of the system to make the system stable and have a good
response. Simulate with matlab to see the response of the system and use R-H Methods
to analyze the stability of the system after add the PID controller.

2. Consider the system show in figure below (1) and to improve the relative stability, we
employ tachometer feed back like figure (2). Where the x is last two digit of your student
number. Check your calculation with output of the system using simulation software
(MATLAB)

a. Find damping ratio and natural frequency for system in figure 1.


b. Determine the value of K so that the damping ratio of the systems is 0,5 in figure
2?
c. Find approximately maximum overshoot for system in figure 1 and 2?
d. Find the peak time for system in figure 1 and 2 ?
e. Find the settling time for system in figure 1 and 2?
f. Draw the graph for system in figure 1 and 2?
