STEP BACK"

FADE IN:
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
We first see a male teenager Daniel dressed casual
(17) walking in the park and he sees a girl and he
goes over to talk to her and on his way there he steps
on a pen that says time travel. Daniel looks at the
pen that has a weird design, picks it up and puts it
in his top shirt pocket visible for anyone to see.
Daniel carries on walking on to sit down on the bench
where the girl is sitting.
CUT TO:
EXT. PARK BENCH MIDDAY
Female Asian teenager SAM dressed casual with long
hair (17) on the park bench in a neutral position,
legs crossed on her phone with her earphones in with
her pen and notebook next to her. Her face shows a
happy expression as she types into her phone.
Daniel walks into the scene
Daniel
Hi, is this seat taken?
Sam takes out her one of the earphones and looks at
Daniel
Sam
Nope
Daniel sits down on the bench and stares ahead
fidgeting as he prepares himself mentally to talk to
Sam. Sam glances in his direction momentarily and
returns to her phone. Daniel Finally faces her way
starts a conversation with her.
DANIEL
Soo whats your name
SAM
Sam
DANIEL
Sam Sam ...(repeats in different tones whilst nodding
his head)

SAM
Yeah (Puzzled look) what about you?
DANIEL
Oh uhh Daniel
SAM
Oh ok thats nice name
DANIEL
Yep
SAM
Ok
Silence 5 seconds (both characters avoid eye contact
DANIEL
So do you work?
SAM
Oh yes Im a doctor what about you?
DANIEL
Err(thinking in head) I cant tell her that Im a
dustbin man err think think
SAM
Well?
DANIEL
Err Im an environmental cleaner
SAM
Isnt that the same

as a dustbin man?

Daniel
Err
Daniel gets the pen out from his pocket looks at it
and clicks it
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
SAM
What about you?
Daniel looks at the pen then back at her and smiles
DANIEL

Im also a Doctor
Sam raises her eyebrows
SAM
Really? What type are you
DANIEL
Err the good kind?
Sam looks at him weirdly
Sam
The good kind?
Daniel clicks the pen
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
DANIEL
A surgeon
Sam takes her other earphone and turns to face him
SAM
Really? What hospital do work in
Daniel
Saint Mary(nodding his head)
SAM
Ive seen never you before
Daniel
Really? Huh thats strange wait one minute
Daniel clicks the pen
Montage
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel gets hit in the face with a ball while talking to Sam
resulting in a nose bleed
Daniel clicks the pen
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel dodges the ball without looking while Talking

to Sam
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel saying something SAM getting out pepper spray
from her bag and spraying Daniel with it ending with
him screaming on the floor
Daniel clicks the pen
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel saying something and Sam laughing
CUTS TO
Daniel saying something and Sam looks at him in
disgust getting up and moving away
Daniel clicks the pen
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel saying something and Sam moving closer
End of Montage
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
DANIEL
So how about I get that number (slightly brushing her
hair to the side)
Sam gives a small laugh
SAM
Yeah sure its 0784 4033 395
Daniel
Ok calm Ill send you a text now... Did you get it?
SAM
Err yep got it (smiling) anyways I gotta go now
(starts to get up)
DANIEL
Oh so where you heading off to?

SAM
Oh... I got go see my boyfriend
Daniel
Haha ok have fu- wait boyfriend?
Sam gives a weak laugh getting further from the bench
SAM
Yep
DANIEL
You never told me (now standing up raising his voice
as Sam gets further away)
SAM
You never asked (Now raising her voice as she gets
further away)
CUTS TO
EXT. PARK MIDDAY
Daniel sits down, sighs and puts both hands over his face
for a couple of seconds. Daniel then brings out his phone
and calls Sam
PHONE
The number you have dialled is not in service please
check and try again. The number you have dialled is
not in service please check and try again.
Daniel fed up cuts the phone, takes out the pen looks
at it for a couple of seconds and throws it away.
Daniel stays silent for a couple of seconds. Looks up
DANIEL
FUCCUTS TO BLACK
