ii)
A cold environment
Answer a:
In a hot temperature, the body may suffer perspiration, heat stroke, heat stress and also may suffer dehydration
issues.
In a Cold environment, the body may lose heat and in extreme cases they may even suffer shivering, frost bite
particularly to those who work in cold storage units.
Answer b:
Controls for a hot environment a good supply of ventilation, minimising exposure time and increasing breaks
would help. Provision of drinking water, comfortable clothing, barrier creams etc would reduce the risk of heat
related health issues to the worker.
Controls for a cold environment Provision of suitable thermal clothing, hot drinks and external heating is
recommended. Whilst for the workers in cold storage units should have emergency alarms in case they get trapped
in the stores.
A regular health surveillance for those exposed to extreme temperatures is to be carried out and monitored for
adverse symptoms.

Safety Nets:
Advantages 1. Can control fall of people and material
2. can be installed easily
Disadvantages 1. Not suitable for use in low level construction
2. Unless positioned correctly they may not be safe to use
Airbags:
