Monitoring Judges, Finding Child Support Slackers
The next episode of Guilford Sheriff 911 airs Saturday May 29, on Cable Access
Channel 8 at 5:30 PM. Host and Sheriff BJ Barnes welcomes Ednalyn Hurley, President
of Court Watch of NC. A Guilford County non-profit, Court Watch NC assists families
in the collection of child support, and monitors the court system to determine how issues
of child support/child custody are handled.
• College interns and other volunteers sit in on court, fill out a standardized form.
• Notations are made about judge’s attitude, attorneys, and court in general.
• Courtroom evaluations can be viewed on Court Watch website.
• Many use this info to cast an educated vote in judicial elections.
• Alamance, Rockingham and Randolph county courts are also evaluated.
• “Most Wanted” posters are distributed for those behind in child support.
• Posters may also be viewed online.
• A $50 reward is paid for information locating the wanted parent.

Recently Guilford County Sheriff’s Deputies staged “Cops On Top” at Friendly Center
Chick Fil-A. This annual Special Olympics fundraiser with roof-top off-duty deputies
always creates enormous energy and attracts curious onlookers from all across Friendly
Center. Donations totaled over $6700 for Special Olympics! Watch this feature and you
too will catch “Dance With the Cow” fever.
