Birthday Run Memo

This memorandum outlines the plan for the 3rd Annual Air Force Birthday Run to take place on October 3rd, 2009. Registration will begin at 6:30 AM in front of Plumley Hall. There will be 14 roadguards, 2 pace cars, and 2 people manning the registration table. As of September 30th, 90 runners have paid to participate. MEMORANDUM FOR C/COL MAXFIELD

FROM: CADET GROSSI

SUBJECT: Air Force Birthday Run

1. This memorandim will outline the plan for the Air Force Run on Saturday, 03 OCT 09.

2. The 3rd Annual Air Force Birthday Run is scheduled for this Saturday, 03 OCT 09. Registration
will begin at 0630 in front of Plumley (by the Sabine Gates). Volunteers will be there by 0610 (the
registration form says that registraion will go from 0700-0745, but since there is an NUCC parade at
0915, we are going to start registration at 0630 so we can start the run before 0800. We are sending
out a mass e-mail to all participants informing them of the time change). We will have 14 roadguards,
2 pace cars and 2 people manning the registration table. Cadets Dumas, Summers and myself will be
supervising the registration. NUEMS will be present and will set up in front of Plumley. Northfield
PD has also been notified of the run. We will have 2 water stations on the route. One will be in front
of the Mobile Station on Rt 12 and the other will be in front of Plumley along Rt 12. Roadguards will
be posted at each intersection (with roadguard vests).

3. As of 1800, 30 SEP 09, we have 90 paid runners. We hope to break 100 with POC particitpation.
Each participant will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Runners will be put in categories according to
their age group (20-29, 30-39, etc). We will have prizes for the top finishes in each category. The
first-place finisher in each category will receive a beer stein. We will also have a raffle at the end of
the race.

4. We have a 10K and a 5K route set up. The 10K is as follows: Central St to Rt 12, Rt 12 South to
Rt 12A, Right on Rt 12A, Left on Lovers Lane, Left on Rt 12 N, Rt 12 N through Northfield Center
to Vine St, Right on Vine St, Right on North St, Left on Cemetery St, Left on Cross St, Left on Vine
St, Right on Pearl St, Left on Union St, Right on Water St, Left on Wall St, Right on Central Street,
END at Plumley Gate. The 5K route is as follows: Central St to Rt 12, Rt 12 South to Rt 12A, Right
on Rt 12A, Left on Lovers Lane, Left on Rt 12 N, Rt 12 N to Central St, Left on Central Street, END
at Plumley Gate.
