Abstract:: The Experiment With The Title of Voltage Regulation in Single Phase Transformer Was Performed

The experiment measured the voltage regulation percentage in a single phase transformer. By taking voltage readings with no load and various loads, the percentage voltage regulation was calculated using the given formula. The mean percentage voltage regulation was found to be 1.81%, which is within standard limits. Thus, the experiment was performed successfully to analyze the voltage characteristics of a single phase transformer under different load conditions.

Abstract:

The experiment with the title of voltage regulation in single phase transformer was performed.

(%V.R=voltage with no load –voltage with load/voltage with no load)

By the above formula result was obtained,

Mean %V.R = 1.81%

The experiment was performed successfully and calculated result was up to standard.

1 Introduction:

1.1 Background:
Es is the voltage with no load is measured in volts and Vs is the voltage
with load also in volts.

The ratio of difference of voltage with no load and voltage with load to
voltage with no load multiplying by 100 is called percentage voltage
regulation.

(%V.R=voltage with no load –voltage with load/voltage with no load)

1.2 Objectives:
 To find voltage regulation percentage in single phase
transformer.
 to show graphical relationship between V.R% and IL.

1.3 Theory:
We have found the V.R% by measuring the voltages by volt-meter.
V.R% is actually told that how much voltage is being used in single
phase transformer.

2 Equipment and Material:

i. Voltmeter 0-150
ii. Ammeter 0-10 Amp
iii. A.C supply
iv. Connection wires
3 Circuit diagram:

4 Method:
i. The connections have been connected according to the circuit diagram.
ii. Connection was checked by the lab instructor.
iii. Switched ON the supply.
iv. Noted the readings of Voltmeter, and Ammeter.
v. The experiment was performed three times taking different readings.

%V.R is calculated as below:

4.3.1 %V.R=voltage with no load –voltage with load/voltage with no
load
Mean %V.R was calculated.

5. Results:
Observations and Calculations: Es =117.75 volts

Sr. Load current IL Sec voltage at load Vs %V.R= Es - Vs *100
