Dilation (dilatation) and curettage - literally refers to the dilation (opening) of the
cervix and surgical removal of the contents of the uterus.
Uses:
• 1 univalve retractor-
• 1 tissue long forcep- Surgical forceps can be either dressing forceps or tissue
• 1 uterine forcep -Specially designed forceps to help grasps or hold the uterine
parts of the body when the uterus is being operated.
• 1 metal cup
• 6 fine tips

• 6 kelly curved long Kelly forceps/ 6 kelly curved regular- (also known as
Mosquito or Rochester forceps) are a type of hemostat usually made of
stainless steel. They resemble a pair of scissors with the blade replaced by a
blunted grip. In surgery, they may be used for holding off blood vessels or
[tissues], as general purpose clamps, or for assorted other purposes.
• 6 allis regular -is used to grasp tissue. Available in short and long sizes. A
"Judd Allis" holda intestinal tissue; a "heavy allis" holds a breast tissue.
• 2 bobcock regular / 2 bobcock long -is used to grasp delicate tissue (intestine,
fallopian tube, ovary).
• 2 tissue forceps regular/ 2 tissue forceps long- Surgical forceps can be either
dressing forceps or tissue forceps. Tissue forceps have teeth to grip tissue.
• 2 thumb forceps regular/ 2 thumb forceps long - are used to hold tissue in
place when applying sutures, to gently move tissues out of the way during
exploratory surgery and to move dressings or draping without using the hands
or fingers.
• 2 needle holder long / 1 needle holder short -surgical instrument used to hold
the needle.
• 6 towel clips
• 6 heanys
• 2 ovum forceps

Procedure:
