Is your writing Level 2?
• Does your writing make sense when
you read it back? • Are you using some interesting words? • Have you thought about who the reader is, and written in a style suitable for them? • Do your sentences follow on from each other so they fit together? • Have you remembered most of your full stops and capital letters? • Have you spelt your 1-syllable words correctly, and sounded out the others?
• Are your letters formed correctly, and are
they all the same size with capitals larger? Is your writing Level 3? Does it have everything from the level 2 list AND • Is your writing organised? • Is it imaginative? (if it is a story!) • Have you organised it for the correct genre (writing type?) • Have you thought about who will read it and written it for that person – formal/informal, personal/impersonal etc. • Have you used a variety of vocabulary? • Are your sentences in the correct order? • Are your sentences structured properly?
