Acute Pain NCP

The nursing care plan addresses acute pain management for a patient who underwent below-the-knee amputation surgery. Over the course of several days of nursing intervention, the goals are for the patient to experience minimized or controlled pain, understand methods to relieve pain, and demonstrate relaxation techniques. Interventions include monitoring vital signs, dressing changes, ensuring rest, and administering pain relievers and antibiotics as prescribed. The overall rationale is to promote healing and reduce risk of infection while controlling the patient's pain.
