Pipe Friction

This document presents experimental data from tests of two pipes to determine the relationship between friction factor (f) and Reynolds number (Re). Pipe 1 has a diameter of 1" and Pipe 2 has a diameter of 0.75". For each pipe, the flow rate (Q) was varied across 6 test runs by measuring pressure differences. The resulting values of f and Re were plotted, showing that f decreases with increasing Re in both pipes, following an expected inverse relationship between friction and Reynolds number.
