This study examined the effects of gender and alcohol consumption on perceptions of attractiveness of a date. 48 participants (24 male, 24 female) were assigned to consume no alcohol, 2 pints of alcohol, or 4 pints of alcohol. Results of a between-subjects ANOVA showed a significant main effect of alcohol consumption, with those consuming 4 pints rating dates as more attractive than those consuming none or 2 pints. There was no significant main effect of gender.
