The Principal,
The Principal’s Office

Dear Sir,

RE: Absence From School Due To Family Matters

I hereby regret to inform you that my son, ........................ (of Class MB 2E), was
absent from school last Saturday, 2nd May 2009.

Qarizam’s absence was due to reasons relating to some family matters that
needed to be resolved at a short notice. I feel that it would be helpful to write this letter
to acknowledge the school that it was an inevitable cause that my son was absent on
said day and that is was not an act of mere truancy.

Would you be kind enough to have ......... class tutors allow him the time and
instruments needed in order for him to catch up with the lessons and assignments that
he might have missed? I will make sure on my part that he finishes any given homework
and hands them in promptly.

Your kind understanding and consideration is very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Best regards,

..............................................
