Backup Exec Overwrite Protection and Append Period

1. The append period begins when media is allocated to a media set and allows data to be added to the media while protecting existing data from loss. 2. The overwrite protection period runs concurrently after the append period expires and protects existing data from being overwritten while preventing new data from being added. 3. After the overwrite protection period expires, the media becomes recyclable and new data from another backup job can be written, causing loss of the original data.
