Lexington and Concord

The Intolerable Acts were a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 in response to the Boston Tea Party. The laws closed Boston Harbor, ended the elected government of Massachusetts and replaced it with council members appointed by the king, expanded quartering of British troops, and were seen by the colonies as intolerable, fueling the growing revolutionary movement.
