LAYER IS A SHEET OF PIXELS THAT CAN BE EDITED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT

AFFECTING THE OTHER PARTS OF THE IMAGE. LAYERS ARE USEFUL IN ADDING HIGHER
DEGREE OF FLEXIBILITY TO THE PHOTOSHOP DOCUMENT. THEY ALLOW THE USERS TO
KEEP VARIOUS ELEMENTS OF AN IMAGE SEPARATE SO THAT WHEN A PARTICULAR
ELEMENT IS CHANGED THE UNDERLYING OR, SURROUNDING PIXELS REMAIN
UNCHANGED.

IT IS DIFFERENT FROM ADJUSTMENT LAYER BECAUSE LAYER IS IS

BROADER CONCEPT WHICH INCLUDE ADJUSTMENT AS A PART OF SUB MENU. IT
ENABLES TO ADD OR EDIT THE BRIGHTNESS OR SHARPNESS OF THE PARTICULAR
LAYER. ITS VARIOUS ASPECT OR TOOLS ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

 BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST
 LEVELS
 CURVES
 HUE/ SATURATION
 EXPOSURE
 PHOTO FILTER
 INVERT

IN OTHER WORDS , A LAYER SEPARATE WORKING SHEET OF PIXELS FOR CREATION OF

IMAGE BUT ADJUSTMENT LAYER IS USED TO ADD EFFECT OR TO CHANGE ITS VIEW.

Q.5. How can you isolate and blot a foreground object? How can perspective
plans be removed in an image?

ANS. The Extract filter provides a sophisticated way to isolate a foreground object and erase its
background on a layer. Even objects with wispy, intricate, or undefinable edges may be clipped
from their backgrounds with a minimum of manual work. You use tools in the Extract dialog box
to specify which part of the image to extract.
Isolating basically means removing the background of the image and separate
with its main image. Following procedures will be used in order to do so.

 Open an image in the photoshop

 Click on pen tool
 Click on paths from property bar
 Select the foreground image
 Zooming will be helpful
 Make editing in the image
 Your picture will be isolated

We can also by using selection tool as well as paint tool with layer can remove or change
the background of the image.

Q.6. What are cloud colors? What kind of patterns can be created using
them?

ANS.
1) Selecting your Brush.
Adobe Photoshop is a wonderful program with great advances in its brush engine. Creating
brushes is easy and intuitive. For this tutorial I use primarily one brush and below are the steps
used to create it.

Open the Brushes Palette:

-Opacity -You will want to turn off the opacity jitter for now.
-Brush Tip Shape - Set your spacing low, I use 7% here.
-Flow - On the brush tool bar set your flow to a low setting, I have chosen 10%

Keep in mind that on larger canvases settings like these can degrade performance but for this
example it shouldnt be a problem.

2. We need to create a sky background. Now there are a million different ways to do this. One
way might be to paint it by hand using larger brush strokes and blending your own graduated
atmospheret. For the purposes of this tutorial I have chosen to 'cheat' a bit and use a gradient.
You will see the basic settings I have chosen in the screen shot to the left. It's a linear gradient
with foreground color to background color slected.
3. Applying the gradient vertically with the gradient tool we end up with something like this. Its
pretty rich for a sky...but I like it so lets continue.

4. We are ready to begin painting the clouds. So we need to create a new layer. We do this In the
layers palette by either using the new layer icon at the bottom or using the flyout menu on the top
right - create a new layer. Name it 'clouds'.

5. On the cloud layer, taking a fairly large brush (Size jitter should be set to pen pressure in the
brushes pallete) begin painting in the cloud base and shapes with a darker color from your sky
background (you can do this easily by using the eyedroper tool 'i' and clicking over an area color
you want or alternately when you have the brush tool selected pressing 'alt'). Be loose here, in
nature things are random, and should look that way.

6. Now we need to add some highlights. If you are nervous about this step, create another layer
and name it highlights. In this tutorial, however I choose to go for broke and paint the highlights
on the cloud layer. :) Take a pinkish-peach color and begin adding in some highlight areas,
thinking about light direction and volume. This is personally one of the hardest steps for me, it is
often where I will give up on a painting.

Q.7. How can you switch between different viewing modes in Corel Draw?
How are templates beneficial in Corel Draw?
ANS. Corel draw provides various viewing modes to enable the attractive viewing effect,
it can be done by using the view men in the menu bar option. This contains the following
modes which are as follows

 Simple wireframe
 Wireframe
 Draft
 Normal
 Enhanced
 Pixels

We can switch to the different viewing modes by following methods:-

i. Select the image or document

ii. Click on view
iii. Select the mode
iv. It will be applicable then automatically

Q.8. View size of an image be changed. Comment upon this statement with
a suitable example.
ANS. WHEN WE OPEN A DOCUMENT IN THE COREL DRAW , WE GENERALLY SET THE SIZE AT FIRST
FROM THE NEW DOCUMENT DIALOGUE BOX. AFTER THAT WE CAN ALSO CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE
IMAGE WITH THE TOOLBAR BY SELECTING THE PICK TOOL IN THE TOOLBOX AS THE TOOLBAR CONTAINS
THE SETTINGS OR THE PROPERTIES OF THE TOOL WE HAVE SELECTED.

TOOLBAR CONTAINS VARIOUS OPTIONS SUCH AS LETTER, CUSTOM,

TABLOID, LEGAL, A3, A4 ETC. THIS IS THE ONE OUT OF WHICH WE CAN ALSO CHANGE THE SIZE BY
SETTING INCHES AND BY CLICKING ON THE OPTIONS OF LANDSCAPE AND PORTRAIT TO RESIZE IT. THE
EFFECTS CAN BE APPLIIED TO ONE PAGE OR EVERY PAGE BY SELECTING THE OPTION GIVEN IN THE
TOOLBAR.

Q.9. What are the different Types of Text that can be entered with the Text
Tool? What is the use of a Text Editor?

ANS. TEXT TOOL IN THE COREL DRAW PROVIDES A USER TO ADD AND EDIT

VERTICALLY LEFT ALLIGNED IN THE COREL WINDOW. THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF
TEXT THAT IT CONTAINS ARE AS FOLLOWS:-
