Objectives

 Give and ask for information about animals.


 Talk about wildlife
 Practice questions and answers using the verb to be in the simple
present.

Materials

Flash cards, pictures, board, and markets, overhead projector.

Activity 1: warm-up
(post-writing 10 minutes)

1. Puzzle maker: www.puzzlemarker.com


2. Ask students: “If Have they seen a Lyon ?”
3. Ask information about all animals
Activity 2: presentation
(10-15 minutes)

1. Using a overhead projector: show students pictures of the


animals.

2. Form questions and answers using simple present tense:


Show students the picture of the dog and ask:
“Is it a dog?” Students will say “yes, it is”. Then ask “Is he a
cat?” And students will say:
“no, it isn’t”
On the board write:

Is it a ? Yes, It is
no, It is not
Also with contractions

Yes, It is Yes, It’s


No, It is not. Not, It isn’t
Activity 3: practice
( 10 minutes)

With a song about animals. Students should write only wild animals
“What kind of animals can you see in the zoo?”.

Students:
Monkeys, birds, tigers, lions.

* Explain about articles “a/an”

A dog and AN eagle.

Activity 4: follow-up

Students are going to see a documental as (Discovery Channel or Animal


Planet ).
