Power of Positive Thinking
Power of Positive Thinking
Positive thinking is an attitude that keeps you steady and on target in spite of your circumstances.
Every day, we are engaged in one task or another. The fallout of this that we must remember is
that the outcome of these tasks depends on our thoughts. If our thoughts are positive, our actions
will also be positive towards our intended goal and we will get a positive outcome.
So, how can you build it? Here are a few practical suggestions.
Use Positive Affirmations: Using positive affirmations can help you harness the power of your
subconscious brain. We often fail to reach our targets, not because we are incapable, but because
we fail to make a strong impression on our subconscious brain. Subsequently, as our preferences
change over time, the intention to achieve the set targets starts waning. At one point, there will
be no trace of them on our subconscious brain.
Our subconscious brain controls 90 percent of our actions and whatever we instill there can
become part of our actions. Hence, you need to repeatedly tell your conscious brain what you
want to become or achieve until it gets stored in your subconscious brain. Since your
subconscious brain does not accept a change in what you have there and what you really are, it
keeps inducing you to achieve the target.
Observe Your Thoughts: Keep a tab on your thoughts. Ask yourself, “Am I thinking
positively?” “Does the way I am thinking at present help me reach my goals?” “How should I
modify my thoughts to make them more positive?” Accordingly, you make your affirmations and
repeat them to yourself whenever and wherever you are.
Fill your Mind with Positive Feelings: Keep replacing any negative thoughts with positive
affirmations. Always tell yourself, “No situation is permanent; everything rolls down to a
different form with the passage of time. All you need to do is guide it to a positive outcome and
you have the ability to do so.” This kind of self-talk has helped me deal with several difficult
situations because it gives me new energy which helps me think proactively.
Don’t Stop Reading: Keep reading books on successful personalities and observe the qualities
that made them surmount the unassailable situations in their lives. This keeps your morale high.
Tell yourself, “If they can do it, so can I.”
Developing a positive attitude may not happen overnight or over a single instant. It comes
through a constant and conscious effort of positive thinking. Thinking positively should become
a habit. You should deploy it in every situation you engage in. It is like any other habit. The
more you practice it, the more you are addicted to it. Once you use it habitually, you’ll find that
the results are absolutely amazing. This will help you enjoy better achievements, higher self-
esteem, more happiness and better health. All in all, you will lead a better quality of life.
