Virtual Reality: A Presentation On

Virtual reality is a technology that allows users to interact with computer-simulated environments. It immerses users in virtual worlds using head-mounted displays, data gloves, and other tools. VR has applications in areas like driving simulation, video games, flying simulation, and training for fields like aviation and the military. While still early, VR is used commercially by over 61,000 companies globally and educationally by around 3,600 institutions worldwide.

A

PRESENTATION ON

VIRTUAL REALITY
Live in the world which does not exist
What is Virtual Reality ?

 It is a technology which allows a user to

interact with a computer- simulated environment.

 It is a technology that allows you to enter and

interact with a world that is generated by a
computer.
Types of VR System

 Window on World Systems (WoW) :

 It uses a computer monitor to display the visual world.

 Video Mapping:
The user watches a monitor that shows his body's
interaction with the world.

 Immersive Systems:
 It completely immerse the user's personal viewpoint
inside the virtual world.
Types of VR System

 Telepresence
This is a technology that links remote sensors in the
real
world with the senses of a human operator

 Mixed Reality
Merging the Telepresence and Virtual Reality systems
gives the Mixed Reality
TOOLS

 Head Mounted Displays (HMD)

It is a first device providing its wearer with

an immersive Experience.

 Data Gloves

It offer a simple means of

gesturing commands to the computer
TOOLS
 Binocular Omni- Orientation Monitor(BOOM):
Screens and optical system are housed
in a box that is attached to a multi-link
arm.

 Cave Automatic Virtual Environment(CAVE)

It provides the illusion of immersion

by projecting stereo images on the
walls and floor of a room-sized cube
Applications

 learning Driving by Virtual Reality

Applications

 Interactive Video Games

Applications
 Virtual Flying

Want to fly in air ?

Well, its as simple as this…

Applications
 Training
National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA) use VR technology
to train the pilots

United States use this technology to

train their soldiers

CONCLUSION

 VR is in its early stages, but is used commercially, globally.

 There are 61,400 international commercial companies
producing VR.
 While VR is at an early stage, it is used educationally
throughout the world.
 There are approximately 3,600 educational institutions which
use VR.
