Cables and Wires

Wires and cables transmit audio and video signals between devices. Common cables include RCA cables which have single-prong connectors and carry audio or video, XLR cables which are balanced audio cables with 3-prong connectors, coaxial cables which connect devices like TVs and VCRs with single-prong connectors and carry audio and video, and stereo connectors which come in quarter inch and mini sizes and have single-prong connectors for audio signals. Other cables are S-video which divides video into two signals with a 4-pin connector, and FireWire which quickly transfers digital audio and video between devices.
