Procedure to write Japanese text on handphone

Part 1: Unzipping the files

Step 1: Visit http://love.meganebu.com/~simontek/piclip.html . Right click on


the PiClip052.zip and save it to your computer.

Step 2: Extract this file, PiClip.jar

Step 3: Download http://love.meganebu.com/~simontek/piclip/pbdic102.lzh

Step 4: Extract word.utf8 in utf8 folder.

Checkpoint 1: You should have these 2 files.

Part 2: Moving files & creating folders

Step 5: In your memory card root folder, create

1) A folder called Dic


2) Copy PiClip.jar into the root folder (in my case, E: drive)

Step 6: Navigate into your Dic folder, copy Word.utf8 into the folder.

Checkpoint 2: You should have a folder named Dic and these 2 files.

Part 3: Using PiClip

NOTE: You need to set the application access for the application
to allow and edit data.

Step 7: Open PiClip.jar on your Handphone.

Step 8: When prompted to “Allow application to edit and add new data in
Gallery”, select Yes.

Step 9: When prompted to “Allow application to edit and add new data in
Memory Card”, select Yes.

1: あ、い、う、え、お (Keep pressing 1 to toggle between these 5 characters)


2: か、き、く、け、こ (Same as above and for the rest)
3: さ、し、す、せ、そ
4: た、ち、つ、て、と
5: な、に、ぬ、ね、の
6: は、ひ、ふ、へ、ほ
7: ま、み、む、め、も
8: や、ゆ、よ
9: ら、り、る、れ、ろ
*: For you to change か to が, き to ぎ, etc,
For characters like つ to change to っ
#: Toggle between the 5 characters instead of keep on pressing on the
character.
Delete: Delete last character.

Options
CharType conv : Toggle between Hiragana and Katakana
Full match : Match an exact word
Normal Predict : Change from Full Match back to the default setting.
Save : Save what you have type into the dictionary

Settings
Screen : Normal, Full Screen
Font size : Default, Small, Medium, Large

Example: Type ありがとう
Step 1: Press 1 x 1 (あ)
Press 9 x 2 (り)
Press 2 x 1 (か)
Press * x 1 (Change か to が)
Press 4 x 5 (と)
Press 1 x 3 (う)

Step 2: Make sure the characters are not highlighted already, then click
OK.

Step 3: The program prompts you to “Please copy text” . Select Mark All
and Copy.

Step 4: Compose a new SMS message and select Paste.
