Many additional types of technology and data management equipment
IT also represents the how all of these systems are used and how they inter-relate
to one another at the same time.
While it is not necessarily a rule, more often than not these days, and a business's
IT department will typically manage all of the office's technology needs, including
everything from the procurement of computer and technology equipment to the
installation and ongoing maintenance of the systems. In the modern data centered
workplace environment we've come to expect today, ensuring the computer
information technology backbone is operating effectively and efficiently has
become absolutely mandatory to running a successful business or workplace
operation.
If the IT is not in the world we had to use maps to find out how to get from one
place to another, and a little math to calculate distances. We didn't have
computers in our cars to tell us to turn right and turn left: we actually had to
follow written directions or get out of our car and ask someone. IT makes the
communication methods easier by introducing new ways of communicating i.e.
cell phones, via emails, instant messenger, VoIP, video conference, and other
communicating websites like facebook and orkut e.t.c. If these services would not
be in life, the life becomes harder to do works. If we don’t have these type of
facilities of communications so we are just sending letter via post which is time
consuming ,costly, and unsecure. The interaction between masses decreases.
We learned more and learned it better because we had to work for it.
Communication
With the help of information technology, communication has also become
cheaper, quicker, and more efficient. We can now communicate with anyone
around the globe by simply text messaging them or sending them an email for an
almost instantaneous response. The internet has also opened up face to face
direct communication from different parts of the world thanks to the helps of
video conferencing.
Cost effectiveness
Information technology has helped to computerize the business process thus
streamlining businesses to make them extremely cost effective money making
machines. This in turn increases productivity which ultimately gives rise to profits
that means better pay and less strenuous working conditions.
More time
IT has made it possible for businesses to be open 24 x7 all over the globe. This
means that a business can be open anytime anywhere, making purchases from
While information technology may have updated the business process it has also
created job redundancies, downsizing and outsourcing. This means that a lot of
lower and middle level jobs have been done away with causing more people to
become unemployed.
Privacy
Industry experts believe that the internet has made job security a big issue as since
technology keeps on changing with each day. This means that one has to be in a
constant learning mode, if he or she wishes for their job to be secure.
