NCP Risk For Infection

The patient has a compromised immune system due to hepatitis B, putting them at risk for infection. Short term goals are for the patient to demonstrate ways to prevent infection, such as monitoring visitors and frequent position changes. Nursing interventions include isolation, hand washing, encouraging deep breathing and coughing exercises. Long term goals are for the patient to avoid acquiring infection, which will be evaluated after 3 days by monitoring for signs of infection.
