Application
Objective:

Exchange of information in a network using secure messaging and file


transfer..

Existing System:

NA

Proposed System:

The application's purpose is to facilitate exchange of information in the form text


messages and file transfer among various clients
(computers) and server in the network.

The application will be implemented in the "Indian Naval Services Network".

The following salient features will be achieved with the implementation of this
application:

a. Instant messaging with LAN chat ability


b. Secure LAN messaging - with Secure Data Adaptor (SDA)
c. Group broadcast messages
d. Offline messaging
e. File transmission
f. Message logging

The information that is exchaged will be passing through a Secure Data Adaptor (SDA)
present at both client side and server side.

Users of The System

Indian Naval Service's Network.

Modules of the System

The application offers its functionality in two modules:

1) Client module
2) Server module.

The communication between Client and server is achieved through WAN(Wide Area
Network).
Client Module:

1. The Client module will provides the users with a GUI for creation of
users,text messaging and File Transfers.
2. Encrypting the data which is sent.
3. Decrypting the data received
4. Having a internal LAN
Server Module:

5. The server module is used to manage the users and information loggings.
6. Encrypting the data which is sent.
7. Decrypting the data received
8. Database server which is configured as a data Hub.

Database : Oracle 11g

Hardware Requirements:

Processor : Pentium IV or more


Hard Disk : 40GB or more
RAM : 512MB or more
