Property Tax Appeal Forum


Dear Fellow Taxpayer,
You are well aware of the property tax crisis that residents across Cook County
continue to endure. Many have already lost their homes and a great deal more are now,
through unemployment or underemployment, without the means to afford exorbitant
property tax bills. Real estate values have yet to rebound and foreclosure rates are still
on the rise. My agency has worked tirelessly to bring relief to taxpayers, but countless
others are still in dire need of help. In response to these serious challenges, I am
continuing an aggressive outreach effort to bring aid to taxpayers.

As Commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review, I am committed to


educating property owners regarding their right to appeal their property tax assessments
and ensuring that everyone has access to the Board of Review. Therefore, please join
my office, along with 6th Ward Alderman Freddrenna M. Lyle, at an outreach forum for
an opportunity to appeal your property tax assessment. I look forward to seeing you.
