Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, fully or partially blocking the Sun as viewed from Earth. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are aligned as seen from Earth. While two to five solar eclipses occur each year, total solar eclipses where the Sun is fully blocked are rare, existing only along a narrow path on Earth.

conjunction as seen from Earth. At least two, and up to five, solar eclipses occur each
year; no more than two can be total eclipses.[1][2] Total solar eclipses are nevertheless rare
at any particular location because totality exists only along a narrow path o
