Windows 7 allows users to create Virtual Hard Disks (VHDs) to solve problems that arise when installing certain programs that require a disk rather than just a folder. The process involves opening Disk Management, selecting Create VHD, choosing a location and size for the new VHD file, selecting a VHD format, and clicking OK. If created successfully, the new VHD will appear in the Disk Management window.
