1.0 General
1.1 The purpose of this document is to establish the minimum required flow
for fire fighting purposes as design criteria for fire hydrants provided for
new large scale developments.
2.0 Type of Hydrants

2.1 Hydrants shall be of the aboveground double pillar type with a minimum
100 mm nominal diameter barrel.
2.2 Each hydrant shall have at least two (2) outlets. Outlets shall be 65mm
nominal diameter.

3.1 Hydrants shall be positioned to be within 100m from the entry to any Spacing

4.0 Performance Critical Components
