FOOD SECURITY

The most commonly used definition of food security is that developed at the World Food Summit of 1996.
According to this definition food security is 'a situation when all people, at all times, have physical, social
and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food
preferences for an active and healthy life'.
