To determine validity of conservation of linear momentum principle by analyzing the force developed by a jet of water impinging on different targets.

INTRODUCTION
Impact of jet apparatus is to demonstrate the validity of conservation of linear momentum principle by analyzing the force development by a jet of water impinging on different targets. The force on the vane is measured by applying weights to counteract the reaction of the jet. To be used with the hydraulics bench, to measured force developed by water jet on stationary targets. Clear acrylic , water supply via tube at bottom, discharge via nozzle onto target plane. Force on plate pushes stem upward, counter -balanced by dead weight. Balance indicated by pointer on steel rod. The nozzle and the vanes are fitted vane is mounted on a leaver which is provided with initial balancing weight and sliding weight for balancing the impact force. The jet is clearly visible through the Perspex sheet. Apparatus is useful for demonstration of force exerted by impact of jet on a vane and comparison of theoretical force and actual force.
