INV Item Cross Reference Training

This document explains how to set up item cross reference types and values in the inventory system. Cross reference types must first be defined by entering a unique name and description. Then specific items can be associated with the cross reference types by entering the item number, specifying if it applies to all organizations, and providing the cross reference value and description. The process allows linking additional identifying information to items in the inventory.

Inventory Cross Reference Types This document explains the setup of Cross Reference Types and Item Cross Reference Values. Items must be defined and enabled in the Organizations before you can define Item Cross Reference Values.

Navigate to:

Item > Cross Reference

Enter the Following: Type: Description:

Enter a unique name for the cross reference Enter a description for the cross-reference

Select the Assign button to associate items with the Cross Reference Type.

Assign Cross References

Enter the Following: Item: Enter the Item number you want to cross reference. Applicable to all Orgs: Select whether this cross reference is applicable to all inventory organizations. The item and cross reference will appear in all organizations where the cross reference type and item are set up. Value: Specify the cross reference value. For example, the value can be a vendor part number, a drawing number, or an old part number reference. Description: Enter a description for this cross reference.
