This coconut dehusking machine uses two rotating cylinders with opposing spikes to peel the husk off coconuts placed between them. The coconut is held in place while the cylinders rotate in opposite directions at different speeds due to their gearing. Their spikes penetrate the coconut and the rotation provides a crushing force to remove the husk, while leaving the fruit intact between the cylinders.

This coconut dehusking machine peels off the coconut husk from coconut fruit to obtain dehusked coconut

fruit via mechanical controlled dehusking devices. The coconut is placed by a holder in between the two cylinders which have spikes in it. The holder is moved up by the spring mechanism. The cylinders are meshed with spur gears which help them to rotate in opposite directions. The spur gears are made in such a way that each cylinders will rotate in different speed. The rotation of the cylinders is done by a chain and socket assembly for the manual operation, the chain and socket assembly consist a handle .It will help the worker to control the speed and rotation of the cylinders. The handle movement will initiate the rotation of cylinders. The coconut placed in between cylinders will start to peels off the coconut husk from coconut fruit. This is done by two mechanism involved in it. The first is that the opposite rotation of cylinders with different speed by gear mechanism and second is that the shape of the spike and distance between the spikes on the surface of cylinder. These two combined to give the peeling action. The spikes will penetrate to the coconut fruit due to the opposite rotation of cylinders and its shape. The rotation of cylinders will give a crushing force to the spikes for the penetration. The distance between the two cylinders is in such a way that the fruit part will not pass through it.
