Developing student arts assessments in grades 5, 8, and 10 Implementing new Portfolio Assessments specifically designed to improve best teaching practices in the arts Engaging all fine arts teachers in year-long professional development workshops

Across the country, people are searching for the skills students need to face the future.

If we don t live up to expectations, we lose another justification for music, art, theatre and dance in schools.

Maybe we should rethink the foundation

Do we teach the way we do because it helps 21st century students investigate our world Or because we are so dispirited that it s the easiest road Or because its routine Or because that s how we were taught?
