Othello

The Themes

A Paired Task

You must demonstrate in your coursework that you are aware of and fully
understand the themes of Othello – how they link to characters, how they are
represented through language, how they are referred to or utilised by critics.

TASK

• You have been allocated a theme. Your task is to research and provide
as much information as possible on that theme, and present it to the
rest of the class in a form that will be easy for them to understand and
use as a resource.

• The purpose of this class is to produce a collective pool of resources

that can be used by everyone in their research and essay writing.

• Your resource can be electronic or on paper.

You should include:

• Information on the characters this theme relates to and how it relates to

them
• Quotes which link to or represent this theme
• Any critical comments, quotes or perspectives which link to or refer to this
theme
• Any comments/quotes etc on this theme that you have found from any
source through your research.
