Beforestartinginstallationfollowingsettingsmustbedoneonyourcomputer. 1. Gotocontrolpanel\securitycenter\windowsfirewall.Afteropeningoffirewallwindow gotoExceptionstabinthatallowfileandprintersharing,Microsoftmanagement console,msdtc,andrpc. 2. Ifyourfirewalldoesnothavemsdtcandrpcprogramaddedthenaddit.Foradding msdtcclickonaddprogramtabthenanotheraddprogramwindowwillopenthen browseformsdtc.exeinsystem32folderofyourcomputer.Thenitwilladdthat programinyourwindowsfirewall.Notforgettoselectit.Thenaddoneportcalled RPCbyclickingonaddporttabinwindowsfirewallwindow.Thenoneformwillopen putRPCinnamefield.And135inportnumberkeepTCPselected.Itwillbeaddedin firewallnotforgetselectit. 3. ConfigureyourcomputerforMSDTCservice.Gotocontrolpanel\performanceand maintenance\administrativetools\componentservices.Whenyoudoubleclickon componentserviceswindowwillopeninthatexpandcomponent services\computer\mycomputer.Rightclickonmycomputergotopropertiesanother windowwillopenthengotoMSDTCtabthengotosecurityconfigurationtab.Inthat clickonnetworkdtcaccess.Allowinbound,allowoutbound,noauthenticationrequired, enableXAtransaction.Clickokafterthatonemessagewillappearclickyesonit. 4. Makethefollowingselectionsonthesetuptypepage, Selectthetypicalinstallation. Clickbrowsetospecifythedrivelocationfortheprogramfiles. Clickbrowsetospecifythedatafilesdrivelocation. Clicknextonthesetuptypepage. Makethefollowingselectionsontheserviceaccountpage; Selectusethesameaccountforeachservice.Autostartsqlserverservice button. Selectservicesettingsasrequiredforyoursituation. Clicknextonserviceaccountpages. Intheauthenticationmodepage,selectwindowsauthenticationmode,andthen clicknext. Onthestartcopyingfilepage,clicknext. Onthechooselicensingmodepage,makeselectionaccordingtoyourlicense agreement,andclickcontinuetobegintheinstallation. Clickfinishonthesetupcompletepage,thesqlserver2000installationis complete. Theninstallsqlserver2000servicepack3a:databasecomponents. 6. Installadobeacrobatreader. 7. VerifyautomaticstartupofMicrosoftsqlserver2000services.
