COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES As stated in County Council Resolution 16-1325

The Committees responsibilities should include monitoring the Plan recommendations, monitoring the CIP and Growth Policy, and recommending action by the Planning Board and County Council to address issues that may arise, including, but not limited to, community impacts and design, and the status and location of public facilities and open space.

REVISED DRAFT MISSION


The Great Seneca Science Corridor Advisory Committee is a group organized by the Montgomery County Planning Board for the purpose of providing advice and guidance to the Planning Board, the County Council, the County Executive and their staff on the implementation of the projects that make up the Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan. The group is composed of representative residents and members of the business communities impacted by this plan and the resulting development. The group will help to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of the GSSC master plan. It will help the Planning Board, the County Council, the County Executive and their staff to maintain the objectives of the GSSC master plan. The Advisory Committee will strengthen the monitoring of implementation, development, and construction of the various projects comprising the GSSC. The Advisory Committee is to provide advice and guidance to the Planning Board, County Council, and County Executive staff on the Countys outreach, interaction with affected communities and business, advice on the on-site placement, design and layout of facilities, review of related studies and recommendations, advice and guidance on environmental, housing and transit-oriented development considerations, along with other appropriate issues pertaining to achievement of the objectives of the GSSC. The Advisory Committee will not replace project specific meetings with affected communities, which the County will continue to conduct.
