Transporting Firearms

The document discusses Michigan law regarding transporting firearms in motor vehicles. It states that firearms other than pistols must be unloaded and either taken down, enclosed in a case, carried in the trunk, or inaccessible from the interior when transported in a vehicle. Violating this is a misdemeanor. The law now allows pistols to be transported in a vehicle for lawful purposes if registered to the owner, unloaded, and in a closed case in the trunk or inaccessible in the passenger area. Lawful purposes include traveling to and from hunting, shooting ranges, gun shows, and between residences and businesses.
