Location Notes

The document discusses the location used for an opening film sequence - a bathroom in Oaks Park High School. The group chose this location for several reasons. First, bathrooms are commonly used in horror film openings. Additionally, the bathroom has dim lighting from an opaque window, giving it an eerie atmosphere. The school bathroom was also a convenient, free location that was a suitable size for filming. A mirror in the bathroom was needed to film a planned suspenseful moment. Overall, the location sets the scene and helps viewers understand where the opening sequence will take place.

Location Notes Location used: bathroom in Oaks Park High School Why did we decide to use this location?

Our group decided to use the bathroom as our location for our opening sequence for many reasons. Firstly, we did research into horror films and watched a few openings and saw that eerie locations are usually used throughout the film, and one film in particular that stood our for us was the franchise of the Saw films. In the opening sequence of Saw the characters are in a deserted, eerie, dull-looking bathroom which we thought was a good location to also use our film in, as it is a typical location used within the Thriller genre. We also used a bathroom, as the locations lighting is not to dark but also not too bright. As the bathroom we are using has a window in one of the cubicles, but it isnt a see-through window it is an opaque window so the light comes through differently giving it more of an eerier atmosphere, as the light doesnt directly shine through it comes through at different angles, and is trying to force itself through the window. We also decided to use the bathroom at school, as it is convenient as it is close by, free, and also it is a good size to film within. We also used a bathroom, as the location has a mirror that is needed, as one of our key suspense moments of the opening sequence, when taken place needs a mirror. We decided to use this location, as it sets the scene and the viewer has a clear understanding of where the opening sequence is going to take place.
