Water Distribution

The document discusses different methods for water distribution systems. It describes pump systems that use pumps to move water, gravity systems that rely on water flowing downhill from storage tanks, and combination systems that use both pumps and gravity. A combination system is most common, using pumps to fill storage tanks that then supply water to lower areas via gravity when demand is high or during emergencies. The systems aim to efficiently and reliably deliver treated water from its source to users.

WATER DISTRIBUTION

Water distribution method is an important for water resources and users. include all the works that receive water from the water pumping station. Water distribution system also includes pumps, main valves, and branch pipes, storage tanks, water meters and fire hydrant.

ii. Gravity System

Used when the supply area has a high area to build a storage tank. Water will flow and be distributed to users in the lower area of the storage tankby gravity. Operation and maintenance cost of this system is cheaper than the pump system.

is the most commonly used. Excess of water will be stored in storage tanks and used at peak hour. Water savings can also be used in the event of a fire or during a power failure. At the high area, water will be supplied using a pump, while at the low areas will be supplied from storage tanks by using gravity systems.
