Use your eyes, hands, and head. Observe the color of the gold. Scrutinize the piece. If it looks like junk jewelry and tests to be gold, something may be wrong. Test for 10K Gold Rub the item being tested on a wensanded, smooth test stone, Ieaving a strong visible streak Apply 10K add. If the test mark fades, item has zero gold content if the test mark stays bright, it is at least 10k gold.
