Welcome to Bulgaria!

Presented by: Petar and Marco

Hello, children! I am Petar and together with my friend Marco, we will show you our beautiful home!

Bulgaria is a country is in south-eastern Europe, located near the Black Sea. Bulgarians are friendly, like to talk with strangers, enjoy eating the delicious Bulgarian food, sing, dance and make new friends!

The capital of Bulgaria is Sofia and it is as big as Sapporo! Nearly two of the eight million people live here! Our currency is the Lev. We are one of the 27 members of the European Union since 2007! Let me show you our capital Sofia!

Bulgaria is a small country, but has a very beautiful nature. In fact, it looks just like Hokkaido! We have a sea, four seasons and beautiful mountains!

Founded in 681 A.D., Bulgaria is the oldest country in Europe, which has never changed its name! Thracian, Romans, Greeks, Slavs, Bulgarians and Ottomans have left something here We have a rich cultural heritage! I love you! I love Bulgari a!

Bulgaria was the first country to adopt and develop the Cyrillic alphabet, created by the brothers Cyril and Methodius. Nowadays, more than 300 million people use it every day! Orthodox Christianity and the Cyrillic alphabet are important parts of our life

Bulgarian food is very delicious! We eat a lot of vegetables and fish. But the most famous Bulgarian product is the cheese! And it is made from our yoghurt!

Lets see how the delicious yoghurt is made!

The most expensive perfumes are made from the famous Bulgarian roses! At the end of every May, the roses are picked in the valley of Kazanlak.

Every region in Bulgaria has its own traditional clothing! However, we now wear them only on special occasions, such as folk dances!

Like all Bulgarians, me and Marco like to sing and dance our national songs!

But some of them can be really difficult Like this one
