This document provides instructions to install Fedora from an ISO image using VMware: 1. Copy the Fedora zip file to your home folder and unzip it. 2. Check that the Fedora ISO image path is specified in the VMware CDROM and that the CDROM is connected at startup. 3. Update packages and enable the Add/Remove program functionality by running RPM commands in the Fedora folder.

1.copy fedora.zip in your home folder from ftp server. 2.Unzip fedora.zip.

3.Check the contents of fedora folder.

4.Check fedora *.iso image path is given in cdrom of vmware.

5.check cdrom is connected at power on .

6.Click on System tab-Administration tab-network tab .check network is active or not.if not active setup the network with ip address .

7.open terminal and type cd /home/fedora

8.check contents of the fedora folder

9. Run script cd.sh with command sh i.e. sh cd.sh.You will mount the contents of cdrom.

10.copy fedora.repo and fedora-updates.repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d directory.Original fedora.repo and fedoraupdates.repo files should be renamed with .bak extension. As shown in screen shot.

11.Give following rpm command ,from terminal when you are in fedora folder to update packages related to add/remove programs rpm -Uvh pirut-1.3.28-1.fc7.noarch.rpm python-iniparse0.2.3-3.fc7.noarch.rpm yum-3.2.8-2.fc7.noarch.rpm yumupdatesd-3.2.8-2.fc7.noarch.rpm . Press enter key.

12.click on add/remove program form applications menu

13.You will get following screen.

15.Update a particular package by selecting and applying the package.

15.Finally run script cd1.sh to unmount the contents of cdrom.
