org Important Dates to Remember January 2nd, 2012 No School January 10th-13th - On Track Alachua County Mid-year testing this week and multiple meaning words as well as drawing conclusions and inferencing. FCAT Explorer: http://www.fcatexplorer.com

January 16th- No school; Martin Luther MATH This week students will jump to Chapter 8: King, Jr. Day Representing Fractions Less Than One. Fractions can be January 20th- No school; Teacher Workday challenging for students and starting this chapter early January 24th- Field Trip to SFCC will allow Third Graders more time to practice and review Planetarium Homework & Snack Mon Tues. Wed. Thurs. them prior to the FCAT in April. We will go back and work on chapters 5-7 after completing the fraction work in chapters 8-9.

Spelling Words- NO spelling this week! Writing-This week students will focus on elaboration. Third Graders will practice using Specific word choice and figurative language to jazz up their pieces. Science On January 24th Third Graders will journey to the Santa Fe college Planetarium. Please look for the Permission slip and chaperone information this week in your child's homework folder.
