Diabetes Patho

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition where the body does not properly process sugar (glucose) for energy. It is often caused by hereditary factors, previous gestational diabetes, age over 35, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy, or stress. This leads to impaired insulin secretion and insulin resistance, high blood glucose, excessive thirst, and chronic high blood sugar levels, which can damage blood vessels and nerves over time and lead to complications like heart disease, stroke, neuropathy, eye problems, and kidney disease.
