-------------------------------------meykiirtikaL are prologue verses found in stone inscriptions and in copper plate grants which praises
the king in reign on date. These are useful for history as they indicate regnal year of kings, details on
their dynasty etc. In tamiz nATu thousands of inscriptions were recorded and archived as annals of
history. We can find details on administration, tax system, random sampled record of various day to
day activities of common people on those era. Hence inscriptions are form part of recorded history
and culture of tamiz naATu.
Only the moolam texts (and not the commentaries and other research works of the authors).from the
book published by IITS taramaNi.with title "meykkiirttikaL" are reproduced here.
