noadditionalharmtotheenvironment.Theyarealso
designedtobiodegradeovertime,actingasatypeofmulch
toyourarea.

Thenettingmaterialonthesecoirmatsareequallynatural
andaredesignedtobiodegradewiththemat.Nettingusually
featuresanopenweavedesignthatallowsforseedingboth
beforeandafterthemathasbeeninstalled.

Thecoconutfibergeotextileshouldbeplacedinanareathat
hasbeenuniformlygradedsothatthematcomesincomplete
contactwiththesoil.Itisrecommendedthatatrenchshould
bemadeatboththetopandbottomofyourslopetobackfill
afterthemathasbeenplaced.Matscanbeinstalledby
unrollingtheunitfromthetopandlayingtheminthe
directionofthewaterflow.Itistypicallyrecommendedthat
matsoverlapaminimumof6to8inches.Matscanbe
securedwithstaplesand/orwoodenstakes.Aftermatshave
beensecuredinallareas(openend,securedalongthefaceof
theslope),thetrenchescanbefilledwithsoil.
