A survey asked students to identify major factors that cause stigma and how it affects them positively and negatively. For the major factor, students could choose between financial capability, talent capability, healthiness, physical appearance, or attitude. For positive effects, options were increased determination, increased socialization, acceptance of differences. For negative effects, options were decreased self-confidence, feelings of unimportance, decreased self-esteem, avoidance of self-expression, avoidance of certain people, isolation, and thoughts of suicide.
