No Second Troy

The poem explores why the speaker should not blame the woman referred to as "she" for filling his days with misery or teaching violent ways to others. Had the people possessed courage matching their desire, what could she have done differently given her nature and circumstances in such an age? There was no second Troy for her to burn down. The second excerpt is a poem about God creating a man out of clay who became so bright and handsome that he aimed his bow at God, questioning his creator. God asks the man his name, to which he replies "Sir, Genius."

No Second Troy WHY should I blame her that she filled my days With misery, or that she would

of late Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways, Or hurled the little streets upon the great. Had they but courage equal to desire? What could have made her peaceful with a mind That nobleness made simple as a fire, With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind That is not natural in an age like this, Being high and solitary and most stern? Why, what could she have done, being what she is? Was there another Troy for her to burn?

God, said, I made a man Out of clay----But so bright he, he spun Himself to brightest Day -----Till he was all shining gold And oh, He was handsome to behold! But in his hands held he a bow -----Aimed at me who created Him. And I said Wouldst murder me Who am thy Fountained! -----Then spoke he the man of gold: I will not Murder thee! I do but Measure thee. Hold -----Thy peace. And this I did But I was curious Of this so regal head Give thy name! Sir! Genius
In Biblical beliefs, we are made by God with his own image. God is so powerful and genius to have that kind of idea. He made us to be a care taker of his creatures, but what we have done is to destroy it. Time will come that man would realize all the mistakes that we have done to our God, when that time comes we must always remember that we should be thankful for everything and ask for forgiveness for all our mistakes
