Overloading of Machine

Unit-01 and Unit-02 have frequently been operated at loads over 308 MW for 3-4 hours per day, which is detrimental to reliability and reduces machine life. Despite warnings about abnormal parameters, control room engineers have ignored the warnings and not reduced loads to the recommended 100% of rated capacity. The machines are designed to run continuously at 300 MW. It is requested that control room engineers be instructed to operate the units at or below 300 MW for continuous operation.

Subject: Continuous overloading of the unit-01 and-02.

It is observed that unit-01 and 02 are frequently being operated load more than 308 MW for longer duration of time like 3 to 4 hours in a day. This type of frequent continuous operation of overload is detrimental to reliability of operation and affect the life of machine. It is also observed that despite giving warnings to desk engineer about abnormal parameters, these warnings are ignored and machine load not reduced to 100% TMCR. Machines are designed to run at 300 MW on continuous basis. So it is requested to instruct the desk engineer to operate the units at 300MW on continuous basis.
