Exercises 2 Past Simple

Chip the mouse was cold outside so he crept into a house and hid under the kitchen table. Lizzie went to the kitchen to make a sandwich and jumped when she saw Chip, trying to catch him but failing. Jimmy then saw Chip in the hall and tried to catch him too but Chip was faster. Zip the cat woke from her nap and smelled Chip, chasing him around the house until finally catching him. Daddy came downstairs and took Chip from Zip, telling Zip to show Chip her toy mouse instead. But when Zip returned with the toy, everyone had gone outside, making Zip unhappy that she couldn't show Chip the toy.
